Centrifuge: A "Universal and Efficient Expert" for Solid-Liquid Separation

In numerous fields of industrial production and scientific research experiments, the centrifuge is a core universal equipment for solid-liquid and liquid-liquid separation. It relies on the principle of centrifugal force, making substances of different densities produce different sedimentation speeds through high-speed rotation to complete separation and purification. It is widely used from micro-sample processing in laboratories to industrial batch production. Whether it is juice clarification in the food industry, material purification in the chemical industry, or bacterial separation in the pharmaceutical industry, the centrifuge has become a key link in the production chain with its efficient and precise separation performance. Its separation efficiency is 30%-50% higher than that of traditional filtration equipment, greatly shortening the production cycle.
The use of centrifuges must follow the core principles of "scenario adaptation + standardized operation". Select appropriate modes according to different material characteristics: when processing high-viscosity materials (such as fermentation broth), preheat to reduce viscosity and appropriately increase the rotation speed to enhance centrifugal force; when separating easily broken particles (such as food raw materials), adopt low-speed start-up and gradient speed-up methods to avoid particle breakage caused by sudden speed increase. In general operating specifications, ensure the equipment is stably fixed before feeding to avoid vibration and deviation during operation; load materials evenly, with the weight deviation controlled within 5% to prevent rotor imbalance and faults; monitor parameters such as rotation speed and temperature in real time during operation, and stop the machine immediately for inspection if abnormal noise or parameters occur.
Daily maintenance is the key to extending the service life of the centrifuge, focusing on "cleaning protection + component maintenance". After each use, timely clean the residual materials on the drum and the inner wall of the chamber to avoid affecting the next separation accuracy after drying; for corrosive materials, thoroughly rinse with neutral cleaning agent; regularly check the sensitivity of the brake system to ensure stable braking during shutdown and avoid inertial impact damaging the equipment; add special lubricating oil to key components such as bearings and rotors every month to reduce mechanical wear; conduct a comprehensive inspection every quarter, focusing on checking whether the drum has cracks and whether the seals are aging, and replace vulnerable parts in time.
With technological development, centrifuges have achieved multi-dimensional upgrades: the intelligent control system can accurately adjust parameters such as rotation speed and temperature to adapt to various materials; the application of energy-saving motors reduces energy consumption by more than 20%, meeting the needs of green production; small laboratory centrifuges have both high precision and convenience, while large industrial centrifuges realize continuous production with a processing capacity increased to tens of tons per hour. Whether in scientific research or industrial scenarios, selecting the right centrifuge and operating and maintaining it standardized can give full play to its separation advantages and improve the quality and efficiency of production and research.
