Three-Legged Centrifuge: The "Particle Recovery Expert" for Chemical Crystallization Separation
In the field of chemical production, the three-legged centrifuge is a core equipment for solid-liquid separation of crystalline materials. Its unique three-legged suspension structure can buffer the vibration generated by high-speed rotation. Through the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation of the drum (rotating speed 800-1500rpm), it quickly separates the crystalline particles (such as sodium chloride, citric acid, sulfonamide drug crystals) from the reaction solution, realizing efficient separation of crystals and mother liquor. Widely used in fine chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, food additives and other production scenarios, a single equipment can process 50-200kg of materials each time, the crystal recovery rate is over 98%, and the mother liquor has high clarity, which greatly reduces material waste and improves production efficiency.
Operating the three-legged centrifuge must follow the principle of "crystal characteristics adaptation - start-stop specification". When processing agglomeration-prone citric acid crystals, the drum speed is set to 1000rpm, the centrifugation time is controlled at 8-10 minutes, and the distributor is turned on before feeding to ensure uniform material distribution; when separating fine sulfonamide crystals, a special filter cloth must be laid in the drum, the speed is increased to 1200rpm, and the centrifugation time is extended to 12 minutes to prevent fine crystals from being lost with the mother liquor. Before starting the equipment, check the elasticity of the three-legged suspension spring to ensure uniform force; when stopping, it is necessary to reduce to low speed before braking to avoid crystal breakage or equipment damage caused by high-speed braking.
Daily maintenance should focus on "filter cloth management" and "mechanical structure maintenance". After each use, disassemble the filter cloth for thorough cleaning, remove residual crystals, check the integrity of the filter cloth after drying, and replace it in time if it is damaged; check the wear of the inner wall of the drum every week, and polish it smooth if there are scratches to prevent crystal adhesion; add grease to the spindle bearing every month, and check the sensitivity of the brake system to ensure the braking distance meets the standard; calibrate the dynamic balance of the drum every quarter, and adjust the counterweight if abnormal vibration occurs to avoid long-term vibration damaging the equipment structure. In addition, the liquid collection tank at the bottom of the equipment should be cleaned regularly to prevent the mother liquor from corroding the equipment base.
Compared with horizontal centrifuges, three-legged centrifuges have the advantages of simple structure, convenient operation, and little damage to crystal particles. They can also flexibly adjust the filter cloth and rotation speed according to material characteristics, adapting to the separation needs of various crystals. With the improvement of the chemical industry's requirements for material recovery rate and product purity, three-legged centrifuges with frequency conversion speed regulation, automatic feeding and explosion-proof design have become core equipment for small and medium-sized chemical enterprises to improve separation efficiency and ensure product quality.
