Yingtai: Precautions for Sterilizing Liquids
When sterilizing liquids, the following precautions should be observed: Use heat-resistant glass bottles or unsealed metal containers. The container's volume should not exceed 3/4 of its capacity. The bottle opening should be sealed with cotton gauze stoppers or breathable fabric or thin paper wrapping. Avoid using unperforated rubber or cork stoppers, as well as non-breathable plastic wraps, to prevent bottle explosions.
At the end of the sterilization process, do not release the steam immediately. Wait until the pressure gauge pointer returns to zero before discharging any residual steam. Different types of sterilized items, such as dressings and liquids, should not be sterilized together to prevent damage. When stacking sterilized items, do not block the safety valve or steam discharge valve. Leave sufficient space to ensure smooth airflow; otherwise, the autoclave body may rupture.
If the pressure gauge pointer has returned to zero but the lid cannot be easily opened, place the steam discharge valve handle in the venting position to allow external air to enter the sterilizer. Once the vacuum is eliminated, the lid can be opened.
During use, keep the equipment clean and dry, and replace the rubber sealing ring regularly to prevent aging that may affect the sealing performance. The sterilizer should ideally use distilled water to prevent scale buildup. Clean the sterilizer weekly and replace the heating water.
The operating status of the sterilizer can be monitored via the indicator lights and screen on the control panel to ensure safety and effectiveness during the sterilization process. After sterilization is complete, confirm that there is no pressure inside the chamber, the pressure gauge has returned to zero, and the power supply is disconnected before opening the lid to remove sterilized items.
