Tube Sealer: The "Sterile Sealing Steward" for Medical Consumables Packaging
In the field of medical consumables production, the Tube Sealer is a key equipment to ensure product sterility, especially for the end sealing of tubular consumables such as infusion tubes, catheters, and blood collection needles. Through precise temperature control and pressure adjustment, it melts and closes the tube ports to form a leak-proof and anti-pollution sealing structure. It is widely used in the finished product packaging of disposable medical consumables, ensuring that the consumables remain sterile from production to use and reducing the risk of clinical infection.
When operating the Tube Sealer, parameters must be adjusted according to the material and specifications of the tube. When processing PVC infusion tubes, the heat-sealing temperature is usually set to 160℃-180℃, the pressure is controlled at 0.4MPa-0.5MPa, and the heat-sealing time is 1.5-2 seconds to avoid tube carbonization due to excessive temperature. When processing PE catheters, the temperature needs to be reduced to 140℃-160℃, and the pressure adjusted to 0.3MPa-0.4MPa to prevent tube breakage due to high brittleness. Before operation, standard samples must be used to test the sealing effect. Mass production can only be carried out after passing the tensile test (sealing tensile force ≥15N) and leak test (no bubbles when immersed in water).
Daily maintenance should focus on "heat-sealing components" and "cleaning and maintenance". After each use, wipe the heat-sealing mold with an alcohol pad to remove residual molten plastic and prevent mold blockage from affecting the sealing flatness; check whether the terminals of the heating tube are loose every week, and tighten them in time if poor contact occurs; calibrate the temperature sensor with a calibrator every month, and recalibrate if the error exceeds ±2℃; replace the high-temperature resistant silicone pad of the heat-sealing mold every quarter to avoid poor sealing due to silicone aging. In addition, the equipment's heat dissipation holes should be cleaned regularly to prevent overheating failures caused by dust accumulation.
Compared with manual hot-melt sealing, the Tube Sealer has the advantages of strong sealing consistency, high efficiency (processing 30-50 tubes per minute), and compliance with GMP certification requirements. It also supports data storage and traceability, meeting the compliance needs of medical consumables production. With the improvement of sterility standards in the medical consumables industry, Tube Sealers with automatic feeding, fault alarm, and multi-specification mold adaptation functions have become core equipment for medical consumables manufacturers to improve production quality and efficiency.
